General Information

C-Print is a "speech-to-text" program developed for the hearing impaired by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. This service is for deaf and hearing impaired students with the purpose of improving classroom experiences at the secondary and college levels.

Trained operators, called C-Print captionists, type out the auditory speech into text using C-Print Pro. This software is designed specifically for this service and allows the captionists to type in an abbreviated system with fewer keystrokes or use speech with the text able to be displayed to multiple students at once. The text can also be converted into paper or electronic format for students to use as notes.
