LSUMail: Calendar Sharing Issues

Calendar Sharing Problem

When trying to share your LSUMail Calendar you get an error message about "permissions".
 

Option 1: Possible Reason & Solution

Reason 1:

• The person you are trying to share with is incorrectly specified. Check to make sure that the e-mail address of that person is of the format PAWS_ID@lsu.edu (ex. mtiger2@lsu.edu) and NOT some other format like PAWS_ID@campus.lsu.edu or PAWS_ID@tigers.lsu.edu.
   
• You can only share with someone whose e-mail address ends in @lsu.edu AND has a mailbox on the LSUMail system.
   
• It is best to share your calendar with a person by picking them out from the Global Address Book.

• Share Your Calendar in Outlook 2016 (Mac)
• Share Your Calendar in OWA (Outlook Web Access)
   

Option 2: Possible Reason & Solution

Reason 2:

• The address of the person you are trying to share with was picked up from your personal contacts.
   
• Even if your personal contact has the person's e-mail address as @lsu.edu, the system might get confused and think the person is not in LSUMail.
   
• It is best to share your calendar with a person by picking them out from the Global Address Book.

• Share Your Calendar in Outlook 2016 (Windows)
• Share Your Calender in Outlook 2016 (Mac)
• Share Your Calendar in OWA (Outlook Web Access)
   

Option 3: Possible Reason & Solution

Reason 3:

• The person you are trying to share with cannot see your calendar in the desktop Outlook, but it shows up in OWA.
   
• It is best to re-share your calendar with a person by sending them another invitation from OWA and having them open it in the desktop version of Outlook.
